Ever since my wife and I saw the new documentary series hosted by President Barack Obama, I have had this word stuck in my head – privilege. In the series, the president explores different job tiers from the lens of someone working a job that fits in that tier.
The hierarchy that they follow is:
- Service Jobs
- The Middle
- Dream Jobs
- The Boss
As someone who works in the IT field, I fit into the dream jobs category. I had seen how privileged my job was, as during covid I was insulated from it’s effects as compared to a lot of professions. I noticed it even more when I saw the dream jobs category being spoken about in the series.
